FOSS for All Conference
FOSS for All Conference is a nonprofit community conference for everyone who creates, uses, supports, and grows free and open source software, under the slogan “Free and Open Source Software for All.”
The free and open source software ecosystem is not built by developers alone. It grows through the collaboration of people in many different roles, including developers who write code, contributors who create documentation, users who report bugs and test software, translators, designers, organizers, planners, educators, and community advocates.
Around the world, nonprofit conferences such as COSCUP in Taiwan and FOSDEM in Belgium bring together a wide range of open source projects and communities to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and begin new collaborations. These events provide an important platform where people can introduce their work regardless of the size of their project and connect with participants from different fields.
In Korea, several large global open source projects and major technology communities organize their own conferences. However, individual developers, early-stage projects, and small communities still face significant challenges when trying to create independent opportunities for presentations, networking, and technical exchange.
FOSS for All Conference aims to provide an open and inclusive space where diverse free and open source projects and communities can come together, without being limited to a particular technology or project. We welcome not only well-established projects, but also small, newly launched initiatives and experimental work led by individual contributors.
The conference will feature a variety of programs, including technical presentations, project and community case studies, panel discussions, and community booths. Through these programs, participants will be able to exchange knowledge and experiences, meet new collaborators, and discover opportunities for future cooperation.
Anyone with a story related to the free and open source ecosystem is encouraged to submit a proposal. Possible topics include experiences developing or contributing to open source projects, lessons learned from operating a community, real-world cases of adopting and using open source technologies, and stories of failure, improvement, and growth.
FOSS for All Conference is made possible through sponsorships, donations, and the participation of volunteers. We aim to keep registration fees as affordable as possible so that more people can take part, while prioritizing the open source values of freedom, openness, sharing, and collaboration over commercial interests.
We invite people from different backgrounds and roles to come together, share their experiences with mutual respect, and contribute to building a healthier and more sustainable free and open source ecosystem in Korea.

About FOSS for All
“An Initiative for a Sustainable Free and Open Source Software Ecosystem”
FOSS for All is an initiative established to create an environment in which free and open source projects, communities, companies, contributors, and users in Korea and around the world can connect and continue their activities sustainably.
Free and open source projects and communities face a wide range of practical challenges beyond software development, including accounting, administration, event management, sponsorship management, legal review, and organizational operations. Small projects and volunteer-led communities, in particular, often spend considerable time and effort navigating these responsibilities through trial and error.
Beginning with its registration as an unincorporated nonprofit organization recognized for tax purposes and the launch of its first conference, FOSS for All plans to pursue a range of long-term initiatives. These include establishing a nonprofit corporation, obtaining public-interest corporation status, developing administrative and operational support systems for projects and communities, and building networks among companies, users, contributors, projects, and communities.
Through these efforts, FOSS for All aims to help projects and communities focus on what matters most—software development and community activities—without requiring each group to establish its own organization or repeatedly navigate complex administrative procedures from the beginning.
Regardless of project size, technical field, occupation, or level of experience, FOSS for All strives to create an environment where anyone can participate in and contribute to the free and open source ecosystem. By collaborating with projects and communities in Korea and around the world, we aim to help build a sustainable global free and open source ecosystem.
